The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Direct Approach, ridden by P. Cleary, and Rosarian, ridden by P.T. Enright, where it appeared Rosarian crossed Direct Approach. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

D. Robinson, rider of Nuestro Caballo, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise in running.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed the riders first approach to the starter where it appeared several horses broke into a canter before the flag was raised. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by Kasper Hauser breaking into a canter despite the rider's best efforts and that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards received a request from Leonard Paul Flynn, trainer of Gc Star Speed to allow his charge to run without hind shoes. Having considered the matter, and consulted with the IHRB Clerk of the Course, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Leonard Paul Flynn had conformed with the provisions of Regulation 16 and allowed the request on this occasion

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr B.J. Walsh, rider of Ballyday Tysie, in relation to his failure to pull up his mount when it appeared it had no more to give. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that in hind sight he should have pulled up but he thought his mount would just pop the last and finish. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr B. J. Walsh was in breach of Rule 216 (ii)(d) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended Mr B. J. Walsh for two racedays.

E. Walsh, rider of Tell Me See, trained by John M.Burke, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made mistakes at the third and second last hurdles.

Sam Ewing, rider of King Of The Greys, trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed P. Cleary, rider of Dream Shaper, concerning his actions after jumping the first hurdle where he turned around twice, shaking his head. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he had looked around several times as his saddle had slipped. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards took no further action other than to remind P. Cleary of his responsibility to furnish such reports to the Clerk of the Scales in future.

M. J. Kenneally, rider of Brohatna, trained by M.M. Rice, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount felt lame and was pulled up.

P.T. Smithers, rider of Dearg Mor, trained by Aidan Anthony Howard, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount clipped a heel at the start as it was quite congested. Having viewed a recording of the incident and considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no riding offence had occurred and they therefore took no further action.

T. Power Roche, rider of Mon Sheriffe (GB), trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount cornered badly about three furlongs out.

Kevin Healy, rider of Clone Cross (GB), trained by Simon Cavanagh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung violently left throughout.

P.J.Breen, trainer of Lord Lackendarra, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was coughing post race.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Love Like This, trained by John Patrick Ryan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Conor O'Dwyer, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Luimneach, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. Conor O'Dwyer stated that a drop in grade had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

The following Raceday Stewards acted on behalf of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board at this race meeting: Dr Paddy Molony (Chairman), Mr Noel McCaffrey, Mr Pierce G. Molony, Mr William Flood, Mr L. Walsh.

For this race meeting the Raceday Stewards suspended the "starting procedures for tape starts" and the IHRB suspended Rule 208 (i) and Rule 209 (i).
